Over the past year, I've gone through periods of time where I've decluttered my wardrobe only to go out shopping again and refilling the gaps. I've lost some weight, so a lot of things that I used to love just don't fit quite right. I've had full out tantrums while combing through my endless closet trying to find something to wear. So, I asked myself......WHY am I spending all of this time, stress, and money when there has to be a better way to streamline the fashion process?
That's where wardrobe capsules come in. By simplifying my closet to 36-38 pieces per season, I'm only wearing things that I absolutely love, being able to get creative without feeling overwhelmed, and saving money by only shopping a few times a year for a few items. Sounds pretty darn good to me.
My New Years Resolution was to create wardrobe capsules for all 4 seasons, and not buy excess outside of that. I like a good challenge, and it gives me the opportunity to be fashionably creative without feeling completely lost.
I've read a number of blogs and articles about people who live this lifestyle and it seems like a great way to start gaining back some of my free time and minimizing my life. So, here I am.
I figured this project would be fun if I could keep record of it, so that's where the blog comes in. I'll share my development process, my ups, my downs, and the cool stuff I learn along the way.
Perhaps you would be interested in joining me on this challenge? Check out THE BASICS for detailed information on the process, and I'll be posting my wardrobe and outfits along the way too.
